Halloween 2013

We had a party over at the Grandparent's house. We carved pumpkins and watched a scary movie (Signs).

Tanner got home late from work and didn't have the energy to carve a pumpkin, so here he is eating.

Seth did his best job ever on his Nightmare Before Christmas Jack O Lantern.
 Max was a Cereal Killer
Seth is a Ninja Turtle and still wears that shirt to school a lot.
Tanner planned his costume for about a year. He loves Batman so decided to be Bane and shave his head for real!!  Maddie made the vest for him, which took her a long time. Good sister!

Maddie was a cute thief. Here she is posing like a thief would.
The Elementary School always has a Halloween parade for all the parents to come and watch.

Flag Football, Soccer, and Mini Golf

Max and Seth both love flag football. It only lasts 4 weeks but it overlaps with soccer so it's hard to do both. I tried to convince them to pick one but they love both and I love watching both so I deal with the chaos for 1 month then it's all over!

 Seth's flag football team.
For some reason, I didn't get pictures of Max's flag football team.? Here's Max's soccer team. This year it's grades 7th-12th so it's a bit intimidating for him. Some players are quite big and need to shave! He's decided after next season he's done with soccer. That's fine, he's getting busy with other things in his life like band and Young Men's.

Maddie's team- The Grapes of Wrath. They are all so good. Very fun to watch these tough girls!

Maddie said our family outings are pretty boring--we usually eat somewhere and go home. So, she decided we should play mini golf. It was a lot of fun!

This is not the real Mt. Rushmore!

Fall Break in Jackson Hole

Oct. 10-14, 2013
Jon had the opportunity to share with BYU Idaho a book he had written for English Majors, so we decided to make a family vacation out of it. Jackson Hole is pretty close to Idaho Falls, so we spent a couple days there and then went to Wyoming. Marilyn came with us which made it more fun. We invited more cousins but they had school, whatever.
Shopping in down town Jackson Hole. Pretty fun stuff to look at.

We tried to go to a National Park but they were all closed that week. There was a government shutdown because congress couldn't agree on the budget.

We went to a Museum that was pretty good for being small. At the end if the kids found everything on the list they got a Sheriff's Badge. They felt a little too old but did enjoy it!

Stopped for famous Square Ice Cream
When we got back to Idaho we had a game night at the Pinson house. The Pinson's moved closer, yay!! Now, Michael & Rachel's family, Jeff & Becca's family, Sam & Sara's family, and Tim and Ben all live in Idaho Falls.  It was good to see everyone!

September 2013

Sept. 13, 2013

Chalk the Block

We heard about these amazing chalk drawings at the Riverwoods and decided to check it out. Sadly, it kept raining but while we were there it was dry for a few hours.
Riverwoods has a really cool old fashioned toy store that the kids browsed in.

Sept. 15, 2013
This year I had my 40th birthday! Jon was super thoughtful. He first put a video together of lots of friends giving me birthday wishes, some childhood which was fun, and showed it to me right when I woke up. He was actually staring at me, willing me to wake up in the morning because he was so excited to show me. Then he gave me a box of 40 presents! Mostly candy bars. It took a while to eat all that and I even shared with the whole family. Good thing!

Sept. 16
Max gets braces. Lookin Good!
 Sept. 19
In 5th grade, students go to Clearcreek which is a really fun camp up in the mountains. Sadly, Jon could not go with him because of work. He had a great time.
 Sept. 20
Max also went up to the mountains for a Scout Camp out. He looks forward to them.
Maddie's starving when she gets home from Cross Country. Her plate wasn't quite big enough for her eggs and hash browns.
 Sept. 27th
For the Wolf Walk at Westfield they ran 2 miles. Seth is one of the shortest in his class but he makes up for it in heart. He ended up getting 3rd place in his grade. Go, Seth!!

 Sept. 28
Tanner goes to Homecoming. He bought flowers for his date's mom and a corsage for his date. Handsome fellah!
