4th of July

For the 4th of July weekend we went to Idaho for my nephew's baptism. Yay, Mack! It was a great meeting and always so fun to all be together.

Saturday night we did a few fireworks in Idaho at Grandma's. The boys got way into it, of course.
Then we drove home on the 4th since Jon needed to be back for work on Tuesday. We did some more fireworks at the other Grandma's. We did have one firework fall over and shoot at us which was quite exciting (since nobody got hurt.)

Duck Tape

This blog is brought to you by Maddie! :) This weekend I was kind of bored, so we bought some duck tape at Target and started creating.I made this lovely beach bag. Ya, that's right, I made it. I got it off the Family Fun website. It looked fun (Guess that's why it's called family fun) and easy, so I tried it. It turned out GREAT! My YW leader couldn't stop obsessing about it. It was pretty awesome.

Seth saw a neighborhood boy once wearing these duck tape shoes. He was very impressed and asked him how he made them. He said that he just put duck tape around some old socks. Of course Seth went into the mud room and grabbed a pair of MY socks. He had already worn them a lot (despite they were pink) and they were stained black on the bottom. I agreed he could use them and this is how they turned out. I have to admit, they were pretty cool. B) We've also made some wallets, but we couldn't fine them at the moment. Just try to picture the coolest wallet you've ever seen and multiply it by 100. That is basically how they looked.

Max took all my pictures. (I'd like to give him credit for that) They turned out pretty good. Thanks for reading!!! Ta Ta For Now! (as tigger would say:)

Pool Time

I got a new camera yesterday. I just couldn't live without my camera and my birthday is just two months away, so Happy Birthday to me. I wanted to try it out so I took it to the pool. I think I like it! It's a Canon powerShoot that fits in my front pocket.

Tanner's Long Board

This is the reason Tanner liked his manufacturing class so much. They got to make long boards. He had to buy his own wheels once it was done which was pretty spendy but it's nice to see enthusiasm for a class.

I wanted to take another picture of the finished product but my camera got soaked in Sobe and doesn't work any longer. I guess I do have some 4th of July pictures on Jon's phone if I can figure out how to transfer them. Hmmmm.

Girls Camp and Day Camp

Last week I went to Girl's Camp with 30 Young Women. It was super fun because we stayed in a huge cabin with bathrooms that had showers and flushing toilets, that's my kind of camping. The first night we got there we had a fancy dinner then had each of the girls walk the red carpet while we spotlighted them then crowned them. It hopefully made each girl feel valued.
I didn't want to carry my camera around everywhere, so I didn't take a lot of pictures. One day we went horse back riding and hiking (that was a tiring but fun day) and one day we went to the temple. This day we headed to Bear Lake, which is way bigger than I thought. We rented a pedal car for the girls who were waiting their turn on the boat. The adults got to go get the car and pedal it to the park. We were laughing the whole way, it didn't go very fast for the amount of pedaling we were doing. We felt like the Flintstones.
Beautiful Bear Lake.

Then today, I got to go to Seth's first Cub Scout Day Camp. He wanted to actually camp for the night but it was only half a day which I thought was perfect. His buddies, Michael and Tanner.
Seth was most excited to shoot bb guns. They were actually way harder than he thought and he ended up being frustrated. Max told him he would like it better next year when he was a year older.
I gave him $5 to spend at the Trading Post and he bought a pocket knife and these sunglasses.

Krumholz Cousin Adventures

My kids are very lucky. They have cousins their ages on both sides of the family and are very close to all of them. They have so much fun together.

I don't have very many pics of Tanner with the cousins, so here's one of them swimming together.
Gram Life Guarding
George Washington Hair doos
Doing an obstacle course at the park. Even Grandpa played.
Going to Orange Leaf for Yogurt. They have TVs in there so everyone looks comatose. You get to choose your own toppings and put them on yourself, then it's weighed at the end.
Swimming again. More cousins...Collin, Joshua, and Maren.
One day it was SUPER windy so the kids tied sheets to their ankles.
Lyssa loves Communal in Provo, so we had to go there one night.

Timpanogos Cave

The Krumholz family came out for a visit. We have had some pretty full days! One day we decided to hike up to the Timpanogos Cave. It's only a mile and a half up but 1100 feet which is pretty steep...to me. The cave was really cool literally, the kids really liked it.

Max, Katie, Thomas, Maddie, Grandpa Buddy, Peter, and Seth. Tanner was at Youth Conference.
Always energetic Mary and Devon wanted to come too.

Seth Gets His Purple Belt

Moving on up! Seth had Aunt Bethany and his cousin Elisabeth and his Grandma Marilyn come to his performance. He and Max have had a lot of belt tests so it's good different relatives can come each time. :)

Now It's Summer

It's been a long winter. Plus it rained the last two weeks of May which is unusual in the desert. Finally it's warm enough to swim, at least for the kids it's warm enough.
