Halloween 2012

Carving Pumpkin Time
Last year I didn't get pumpkins, thinking no one really liked doing it and the kids were getting older. They were so mad at me! So, this year we did it and it was pretty fun.

Seth's jack-o-lantern had nerd glasses, just like him.
Since Seth is my only child in elementary school, I went and helped with his party. I always play the same game because it's a good one. If you roll a 7 or an 11 you have to jerk your marshmallow "ghost" out before the pan lid comes crashing down. The kids seem to like it.

Maddie- Spiderman Our neighbor made her hat and it was so cute she decided to do a whole costume around it.
 Max was a leaf blower.
Maddie and her friend Alyssa. Cute heroes.
Tanner is Slenderman. I don't know much about him but I know he's creepy. Tanner didn't really have anything to do on Halloween. He got invited to a party and then it got cancelled. He watched a scary movie with a couple of neighbors.

Conference at the Cabin

It's always nice to go to the cabin during conference in October. The leaves are beautiful and the weather's beautiful! My dad decided to install a super deluxe sky ride. It turned out great!

Maddie "helping" grandpa and Tanner helping Jon build the tower.

The men all ready for Priesthood session. This was Max's first time to go since he's now 12! Looking handsome!

We took a walk down to the river. I tried to time my picture for the splash. It worked pretty well.

I could see through Seth's ears because of the sky light above him. You can't see it as well in the picture.

The Grapes of Wrath

Maddie played rec. soccer this year and had so much fun! It was a girls team ages 14-18.  Jon signed up to coach when nobody else would and another dad, Johnny who also didn't know how to coach the girls. Luckily for Maddie she has an Aunt and Uncle that came to every practice and taught the girls skills. Amazingly they won every single game!! Thanks, Donovan and Paige!

Last game, it was a close one!
The whole team with "coaches" Jon and Johnny. We should've had Donovan and Paige in the picture, oops. We still have the other half of the season in the Spring so it's not over yet!

The Team's biggest fan- Elliott. She also went to every practice so it was usually my job to babysit her so her parents could coach. Elliott is a dream baby, she just babbles and laughs.

Seth- Soccer and Flag Football

Seth stayed really busy with soccer and Flag Football this year. He tried AA soccer this year and had fun. He played some really hard teams and lost most of his games in both sports but he learned about being a good sport. :)
I noticed from these pictures, when things get intense, Seth puffs his cheek out.

 Hike!

Here comes the ball...caught it!!

Seth scored lots of touch downs this year. He's small, but he's fast!

Sea World

Back in July when we went to CA, I forgot to blog about Sea World so I'm doing it now.  We are able to all fit on Shamu, barely. The photographer wasn't very happy with us.

Maddie and Seth holding hands. Doesn't happen very often so I had to get a picture of it.
As I was scrolling through the pictures I notice Seth and Katie did this "Poining Gun" pose a lot. I think it was their way of rebelling against us for taking so  many pictures.

Katie with the pose. The kids touching starfish. Good, no poses!

Wait, here they go...Seth and Katie.
 And Katie again! Yeah, Churros!

Everyday a trainer takes the flamingoes out for a walk, it was fun to see them up close.

Max- Soccer and Flag Football

For some reason soccer and Flag Football overlap. I guess they're both trying to get their sport in before winter comes. It makes it really busy for about 4 weeks. Sometimes even tears are involved, usually mine. :) So, Max decided to just do Flag Football this year and give up soccer. But as I was signing Seth up for Soccer he changed his mind so here we go again. He's really good at both and I hate to see him stop playing either. It just means we don't eat dinner together very often but we'll have time for that all winter.
Max wanted to play goalie this year, yikes. He's doing a great job. Sometimes if the other team isn't very good, it's a boring job. So usually half the game he plays a different position which is nice.
Grandpa Buddy and Grandma Sherry usually get to come to a couple of games. They have 6 grandchildren in soccer this year so they have to travel around.

During Half Time Maddie can't resist getting out there and taking a few shots. Even bare foot.

Jon got a new camera and is having fun taking many pictures in a few seconds. It makes for some great pictures. We're not sure if he caught these but we'll say that he did.

Pull those flags!!
