Fire instead of Fireworks

Yesterday a fire started in the mountains about 5 miles from our house. It was amazing to watch how fast and strong it was. Luckily it went up the mountain instead of into the subdivisions. They think it was started by a construction crew accidentally.

Last night we came out to look at it and it looked like a trail of lava coming down the mountain. I thought maybe it would be out by the morning but it's still raging on today.
All fireworks were banned in our city and most of the cities around us. It does feel weird to not have fireworks but it's definitely not worth it. Maybe it will rain soon and we can do them for July 24th.
Barbara Wheeler and her sweet girls are visiting for the week and Ryan's family and Lincoln and Donovan's family and Devon and Mary were all visiting. We had good food, conversation and swam. It was a fun day. We did do a few tanks and lots of stink bombs.
Jon holding Elliott. The fire is in the background. Sometimes it looks like it's going out and then a big billow of smoke starts again. Planes and helicopters have been working on it all day.  It's also been a strange 4th because Tanner and Maddie are gone for the week at EFY. They are having a lot of fun and get to go to Stadium of Fire tonight.

Wow! That fire is impressive. Is it out yet? I'm sorry that the 4th was a little off for you. You guys should come to Denver next year!
