Seth's Boondocks party

Seth invited 5 boys to Boondocks and that was just the right amount. They were pretty excited and hyper to be there, luckily it's a place to be a little crazy. Grandpa Buddy, Grandma Sherry, Gram, and Lincoln also were good sports and came along. For some reason this was their favorite "video game." It was just a screen with a roller coaster that made your seat vibrate.

This cute guy got a little carried away on his ice cream. He's one of Seth's friends that I really like...that's all I'll say about Seth's friends.
Seth got to twirl into 100 tickets while they sang Happy Birthday, it was like a dream for him.
Waiting in line for Laser Tag. Laser tag wasn't the greatest because some boys that were in 6th grade were super mean to them. Hope they felt good about wasting a bunch of 2nd graders.
Gram and Linc playing some ski ball.

Seth's First and Max's Last Pinewood Derby

Right when the boys got to the Pinewood Derby they named their cars and then got to go make a twinkie car for a treat. So cute and so much sugar. Since Max is going to be a Boy Scout in a couple of months, I didn't want to buy another shirt for Seth. So I handed Max's down to Seth and Max wore a karate shirt. I'll have to get his brown shirt soon.
Max's Car "The Purple Turtle"
Seth's car "The Red Flash"
This was Seth's very first Pack Meeting for Cub Scouts. And this is the face he had on almost the whole time. He loved it!! Being the youngest in the family he feels like he has to wait forever to do some things.
Max is such a great brother. Seth's car beat Max's car every time but once and Max gave him high fives and was very supportive. When Max beat him Seth started blinking fast trying not to cry.
Max getting his certificate. 4th place, whoo hoo!
Seth getting his certificate. 3rd place. Good job, Max, Seth and Dad!!

Band Concert 2011

This is Tanner's last band concert. It makes me kind of sad because he's really good but he just doesn't want to play anymore.

Maddie is enjoying the clarinet. Next year she's going to play the bass clarinet. She originally wanted to play the saxophone but her teacher talked her out of it.Grandpa Buddy, Grandma Sherry, Gram and Linc all came to the concert. Grandma Sherry is talking to Maddie about Donovan and Paige having a baby GIRL and how excited that makes the few girls in the family.

Here is Tanner playing a trash can lid. He had a lot of fun doing this number. He's 2nd from the left.

Tanner's Weekend

In Tanner's Computer Tech class they played the "Stock Market Game." He and two other boys picked stocks they thought would go up a lot in one semester and then watched and waited. Out of 274 teams, they came in first place. This meant that Tanner and his parents got to eat a fancy lunch at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake...and miss school. Tanner doesn't show a lot of enthusiasm at this age so it was great to see him so excited. The boys had to get up and give a little speech and then get their picture taken with their school trophy. It was a really nice day.

Then we rushed back to be home by 3:00 for Tanner and Jon to go on a Scout camp out. They traveled 5 hours to Escalante (which to me is too far) and hiked Death Hollow. The name was appropriate since it was Friday the 13th. Tanner said it was fun in the Hollow because they could play in the water, eat, and relax a bit. Jon said it was the hardest hike he'd ever been on but loved being with Tanner. I'm pretty sure Tanner is standing on a rock or something, I don't think he's that much taller than Jon.

Seth's Baptism

Last Sunday Seth turned 8. I went scrap booking in Denver with my sister so I got home early that evening. Luckily my mom made a delicious chocolate cake so we had a family party. He's going to have his friend party in a couple of weeks because that's as soon as we could fit it in this month.
For Seth's birthday he got a suit from his parents, scriptures from his grandma and a baptism towel from his other grandma. These might be boring presents for some kids, but not Seth. The scriptures had his name on them plus he got to eat at Cafe Rio and got a cool football case for them. He's always loved clothes, the more accessories the better. He loved that this suit has a vest. He also wanted a jacket but I thought we'd wait until winter. Along with the baptism towel he got some money that he's already gone to Target and spent.

All the supportive people that came to Seth's baptism. He is very loved!

Easter egg fun

Getting Easter baskets. Tanner and Maddie are still asleep.
Max and Maddie both asked when we were going to have our Easter Egg hunt. I said, "I thought you guys were too old for that." Guess not. When we went to Grandma's for dinner Maddie put together eggs and Devon and Mary hid them.
Seth found one under the trampoline. Devon and Mary did a great job hiding them.

Tanner didn't participate but wanted some candy. Linc, Jon, Devon, and Mary.

Maddie's New Room

This post is brought to you by Maddie!!!
For my 13th birthday, I decided to re-do my room. We painted it purple in 2007, that color was getting pretty babyish! Two of my awesome grandmas gave me money to buy the paint and my other awesome grandma made my bedspread. My mom helped with moving, taping, etc. My amazing dad did most of the work though, Thanks dad!!!!

My old door...
My old bed.....
My old arrangement.....
Starting to paint.....!
All but the molding done!
Painting the molding.......
Me with my grandma and the NEW, AMAZING, bedspread she made me.
The finished product!!!!

This was one of the funnest memories I have had, and it was totally worth it! We might add cute accessories, but for now, that's all we got. Thanks for reading this, I'll be here all night! :D

Goodbye Hazell the Hamster

We're pretty sure Hazell died of natural causes. Hamsters live 1.5 to 3 years and she made it 2 years so...Maddie did a great job taking care of Hazell. We asked if she wanted another hamster and she said no, it will be nice to not have to clean the cage anymore.

Max's brown belt

On April Fools Day, Max received his brown belt. He's really looking the part of a karate boy! He's amazing to watch.
The ceremony lasted about an hour. Seth started wiggling his tooth to keep himself occupied and out it came.
Yay, Max! He's quite sweaty, he deserves that brown belt.
Max's fan club. Maddie, Uncle Lincoln, Seth, and Jon (laughing at someone in the distance.)

Cabin with the WHOLE family

Since it was conference weekend we decided to all go up to the cabin to watch it there. Tanner has learned to make "survival bracelets" out of parachute cord. I'm not sure how it can save your life...but it does. All the kids put in their orders and he made them one. Kept him busy.

Here's a cute picture of Seth.
Since Easter is almost here, well not really, we decided to dye Easter eggs. It's just a fun cousin thing to do.
Here's a cute picture of Seth.
We realized as the noise level rose that we were all here at the cabin. There's usually a dad that has to work or something but amazingly we were all together.

On Your Mark

Tanner and Maddie both decided to go out for track this year to stay in shape. Tanner wants to do cross country next year at the High School and Maddie wants to stay in shape for soccer. I haven't been to a track meet in a long time. One of the coaches asked if I would volunteer to measure the shot put. I learned that track is pretty casual, not that precise since I had students measuring with me, and takes a long time between events that everyone can just walk around watching their team mates and talking to each other. Kind of fun.
This is Maddie running the 1600. She had a big smile the first two times around the track but by the third time she didn't look so happy. She came in 4th or 5th which is great! The view from this school was beautiful of the mountains and the Mt. Timp temple.
Here we are waiting for Tanner to do the shot put.
Go, Tanner! (Grunt!)
Maddie resting with her friends between events.
My sister and her family are down from Denver for their Spring Break. It was so nice because they got to go to a track meet and a soccer game. It was a little hard for my kids to do their weekly things when they'd rather be playing with cousins. What a great support team. Seth is way thrilled to be there. It was actually really hot, which is lucky this time of year.
